Read the instructions carefully before submitting the entry. Fees paid by a candidate who subsequently withdraws his / her entry, or is absent from the examination, or whose entry is later cancelled will NOT be refunded. Fees paid are NOT transferrable from one examination to another / a later one or for other purposes. The Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) cannot be responsible for incorrect entries.
PTE has two suites of examination. PTE Young Learners targets for children; whilst PTE General targets for teenagers and adults. Interested parties may enter the examinations through their school as “school candidates” or apply by themselves as “private candidates”. Examination registration may be submitted by post or in-person or via the online registration system during the registration period.
The online registration is accepted from 18 February (8:30am) to 13 March (5:30pm) 2019.
Under special circumstance, the HKEAA may, at its discretion, admit a candidate after the above registration period. A supplementary fee for late entry will be levied. All fees paid are NOT refundable and not transferable from one examination to another / a later one or from one candidate to another or for any other purposes.
Before submitting an online registration, applicants are required to create their own accounts with a valid email address.
After the applicant account is created, applicant should login their account at the Registration Home page (online.hkeaa.edu.hk) and start registration. Applicant may submit their entries by inputting the information required through the online examination registration system (online.hkeaa.edu.hk) during the registration period. A copy of the candidate’s Hong Kong Identity Card / Birth Certificate / valid passport / other identification document should be uploaded on the system (For the purpose of verifying the registration information only, it will be destroyed after the application procedures are completed). The examination fee must be paid online during registration. The payment is only accepted by credit card with "Verified by VISA" or "MasterCard Secure Code" function. The Authority cannot accept any responsibilities for unsuccessful registration because of technical / network failure.
After the application and payment was successful, applicants can log in to their own account to view the registered examination(s).
School candidates should first contact their schools to obtain the school code which is required to be input when making online registration.
Candidates requesting special arrangements should submit a written request together with a medical certificate at the time of registration. The application of special arrangement is subject to the Pearson's approval.
3. Examination Date and Fee
* Oral tests of both PTE Young Learners and PTE General will be audio-recorded as per examination regulation.
The Admission Forms stating the exact examination date, time and venue will be sent to school candidates through their schools or private candidates by post at the address provided. Candidates should contact the HKEAA if they do not receive their admission form 2 weeks before the examination commences. Examination results statement and certificate will be sent to school candidates through their schools or private candidates by post at the address provided in about 3 months after the examinations are concluded. Candidates who have not received their examination results statements and certificates should contact the HKEAA to track the delivery status within 5 months after mail; otherwise, the examination results statements and certificates will be regarded as successfully received by the candidates. Examination results statements and certificates unclaimed for 5 months after mail will be returned to Pearson without further notice. After that, request for lost or unclaimed examination results statements and certificates will have to be made directly with Pearson by the candidates as applications for replacement examination results statements and certificates. Fees will be charged by Pearson. Candidates should inform the HKEAA in writing of their new address and contact telephone number if their address has been changed. The HKEAA cannot accept the responsibility for any possible loss, delay or damage in mail causing the need of requesting for replacement examination results statements and certificates. The HKEAA cannot reproduce replacement examination results statements and certificates in any form.
The HKEAA shall not be responsible for any non-performance of duties where such non-performance has been caused by an act of God, labour strike, natural disaster, adverse weather, governmental action or intervention, riot or any cause not reasonably foreseeable and beyond the reasonable control of Pearson or the HKEAA.
The HKEAA, including their contractors and subcontractors, shall not be liable to anyone claiming for any damages which are caused by, arising from or otherwise related to the failure of staff members, examination personnel or the examination centres to comply with the examination regulations, policies or procedures.
